Privacy Policy
Stay Cool and Stay Cool LLC ("we") runs staycoolandstaycool.com and sells the Cartridge plugin. This policy explains what we collect and why. We keep it minimal: we don't sell your data, and there's no advertising or third-party tracking on this site.
What we collect
- Launch-notification email. Ask to be notified when Cartridge launches and we collect the email address you submit, and nothing else. Our lawful basis is your consent, which you give by submitting the form and confirming via the double opt-in email; you can withdraw it any time by unsubscribing (a link is in every email). The list is managed by Buttondown (see Processors). We use it only to email you about the Cartridge launch, and we delete addresses after the launch campaign or on your request.
- Purchase details. When you buy, checkout and payment are handled by our reseller, Lemon Squeezy, which collects your name, email, and payment information under its own privacy policy. We receive your name, email, and order details, not your full card number.
- Support email. Email us and we keep the message and your address to reply and provide support.
- Watermark data. Purchased and beta builds are stamped with your name and an order/tester ID so a licence can be traced to its buyer. This lives in your copy of the software; we hold the mapping of ID to buyer.
- Activation data. A purchased licence is activated once per computer (up to three). When you activate or deactivate, the plugin sends our licence server your licence key and an anonymised machine identifier (a one-way hash, it contains no personal information and can't be turned back into anything about your computer). We store the machine hashes and order number so we can enforce the three-machine limit, plus a hash of the issued licence. We do not store your name, email, or licence key on that server.
What we don't do
- No analytics, advertising cookies, or third-party trackers on this site.
- No selling or renting of your personal data to anyone.
- The plugin sends us nothing while you use it. Its only network contact is the one-time licence activation (and optional deactivation) described above, after that it runs fully offline, forever. Beta licences never contact a server at all.
How we use it
To deliver the software and updates, provide support, process your order and refunds, enforce the three-machine activation limit, and, in beta builds, identify the source of a leaked copy. That's it.
Processors we rely on
Cloudflare (site hosting, the beta access gate, and the licence activation server), Lemon Squeezy (checkout, payment, and download delivery), Resend (sends the licence key email after purchase), and Buttondown (the launch-notification email list, double opt-in, unsubscribe, and contact management). Each processes data under its own privacy policy.
Your choices
You can unsubscribe from the launch list at any time using the link in any email. You can also email us to access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you, to release your machine activations, or to be removed from the beta list. We'll do it.
